3) What we specialise in doing
1) We are a small firm headed by Christopher R Bales
FCA, who has over thirty six years experience in the profession and over thirty
years experience of being in business. Chris Bales trained in the UK West
Country gaining much experience in the small to medium sized business sector
and in personal taxation, subsequently joining a larger London based practice
before moving to the Bristol area in 1970. He has been involved in personal
taxation since the beginning of training and actively involved in using computers
since 1981.

2) We operate from Nailsea in North Somerset
(formerly in the County of Avon), about eight miles west of Bristol UK and
about twelve minutes on an easy route from Junction 20 (Clevedon) on the M5
Motorway. For people familiar with the area, a quicker but more complicated
route from M5 Motorway Junction 19 (Gordano), from the North and East, can be
followed using Portbury Lane and Wraxall Hill. From Bristol, follow the A370,
then the B3130 to Nailsea. Routes from the South will depend on starting point,
so please contact us for advice. Meetings at our premises are by prior
appointment only so please contact us to make arrangements.
A detailed
street map of Nailsea (and of adjacent Backwell) can be found on the Standbrook
Guides site (click here) but do note that maps on this site are subject
to very strict copyright terms and may take a while to download into your
browser, depending on the speed of your modem. Alternatively, enter our address
postcode into the searchbox on http://www.streetmap.co.uk/
. A map showing the location of Nailsea within the local region, together with
a brief history from its early days (with an entry in the Doomsday survey of
1086) to the thriving town that it is today (with a population approaching
20,000), can be found on this link
to one of the web pages of local Estate Agents, Messrs Henson, Burdge &
Evans. Also follow the text "glassware"
link in that page to read their page on the history of glass, including the
famous and collectable Nailsea glass.

3) We specialise in providing accountancy,
taxation, computing and planning services for small to medium sized businesses
and personal taxation services for individuals, together with spreadsheet building and an installation, training and support service for
QuickBooks accounting software, including payroll. We treat each and every client as an individual
case and not as a number on a production line.

4) We serve clients both local and in many other
places in the UK, who find that distance is no problem using the postal services
and telecommunication systems. An out of hours telephone answering machine
service is provided together with fax and E-mail facilities, all of which are
normally monitored over most weekends and on many weekday evenings.

5) Out of normal office hours meetings or telephone
contact, weekends included, can easily be arranged and is all part of the
service that we provide to clients. If you are in business, this facility gives
you the freedom to concentrate on your normal day to day business activities
without having to find the time in a busy schedule to contact, or meet with,
your accountant. If you are employed, this facility avoids the need for you to
take time out during the day for meetings or telephone discussions. If you are
retired, this facility leaves you the freedom to plan your day as you would wish
rather than around meetings or telephone discussions with your accountant.

6) Initial discussions, in meeting at our premises,
on the telephone or by E-mail, are entirely without obligation and are free of
charge.
